AWARENESS MATTERS
Take the next step to where you want to be in your life

MINDFULNESS MADE EASIER

A path of self-intimacy, self-attunement and healing

"Without learning to know ourselves as intimately as we can, we limit our choice.  Life is not very sweet without freedom of choice."

Moshe Feldenkrais, The Elusive Obvious

Each week you will use Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement® lessons and/or Sounder Sleep System™ mini-moves to:

  • experience sensation as a direct link to the potency of the present moment
  • enjoy easy and immediate access to your parasympathetic nervous system
  • rest in this calm to support being  present with your thoughts and  emotions
  • experience more ease, freedom and physical comfort in your body/mind

To make mindfulness easier we take instruction from the infants we once were.  As human beings we are born into a world of sensation.  We pay attention to our sensation because this is how we know what we need to survive and how we learn.

Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement lessons are created to bring us back into that state of open exploration of our sensing, thinking and feeling. They can be profoundly relaxing and often reduce or eliminate pain.

The Sounder Sleep System Mini-moves are designed to bring quick access to the calm of the parasympathic state.  Often long-time meditators notice that these simple exercises bring them into a deeper state in 10 minutes than they opened to in 10 days of retreat.  From this state of calm one can then meditate more deeply.

We use group sharing and support to practice mindfulness in relationship.

As we explore mindfulness of breathing, sitting, standing, eating, walking and living the focus will be on how easy and pleasant it can be to just breath and to just be.  How it is that we are able to easily find and enjoy this way of being and yet like the proverbial hot potato, drop it so quickly?

As Sharon Salzberg says in Real Happiness: The Power of Meditation, “Mindfulness isn't difficult, we just need to remember to do it.”
